“This female was docile and, instead of swimming away, grabbed the submersible’s robotic manipulator arm, used for picking up samples of seafloor rocks and organisms.”

This is a sick product. I can’t believe I haven’t talked about it yet on my Tumblr given the fact that I’ve been through three bottles of this shea butter lotion. Besides making my skin as soft as Pau Gasol’s style (kidding, I love that man), every time you purchase a bottle of Everyday Shea, you’re supporting the Togo community’s self-sustaining efforts in West Africa. The product was founded by a Togolese native named Olowo-n’djo Tchala to employ members of the cooperatives in Togo and utilize the indigenous natural resources of the village (shea) to create funding rather than waiting for outside aid or corrupt governments. The Alaffia Sustainable Skin Care line (which makes Everyday Shea) raises proceeds for special community projects meant to empower women and reduce poverty.
Some projects that the funds fuel include “Bicycles for Education,” “Maternal Health” and “School Supplies and Repairs.” This fairtrade product is certified by IMO, so you know it’s legit, and it doesn’t do animal testing.
And if you’re a cold, heartless harlot that only cares about your personal well-being, here are some FACTOIDS for YOU! Everyday Shea is…
- Made with pure, unrefined shea for maximum health benefits (reducing wrinkles, enhancing cell regeneration, protecting against UV and climate aggressions)
- Paraben-free
- Petroleum-free
- Comes in a HUGE ASS bottle that lasts for-friggen-ever and priced modestly at $10 at Whole Foods! ($14.95 online… and I can’t guarantee the price at WF unfortunately, I think it’s been on a special sale for a while)
- No synthetic fragrance
- And, if you’re an ingredient freak like me, you can understand every single ingredient on the label!
Don’t think, just do it. Do it. Do it now. Don’t think. 3…2…1.. (If you watch The Office, you probably think I’m ridiculously cool right now. But if you don’t, I’m guessing that this is probably the last post you’ll ever read off my blog. No hard feelings.).

The first commercial for Black Ops ft. Kobe Bryant and Jimmy Kimmel. Brilliant tagline/concept. Thanks for the share Jared! http://exm.nr/bgBED1
DISCLAIMER: I’m not that hardcore about COD and actually kind of suck at it, but it’s kind of awesome.

Erin Wasson for Jalouse November 2010 by Mason Poole

Erin Wasson is styled by Jennifer Eymere and photographed by Mason Poole in this cover shoot for the November issue of Jalouse. I love this modern western look in a neutral palette with items from Alexander Wang, Kenzo and Erin’s own designs.

HAHAHA. Fun fact, I caught all 151 Pokémon when it first came out on my pink gameboy color. Those were the days.

(Semi) healthy pizza in less than 10 min!

Excuse the photo quality, this was taken on my Droid, but I’ve been on a huge pizza streak. I usually get infatuated with a food item and make it over and over again with slight modifications until I get sick of it and move on to my next food interest.
I’m also all about food that is easy to prep with minimal cook time so I don’t stuff a Think Thin bar down my throat while waiting for my dinner to finish (which, by the way, cannot be good for you at all since I can’t understand half the ingredients in that bar but it tastes soo good).
Anyway, back to the main point, here’s a whole-wheat pita pizza that I made in less than ten minutes. On my pizza, I have:
- Pizza sauce (from Trader Joe’s)
- Mozzarella and smoked gruyere cheese (I used low-fat mozzarella since I apparently have high cholesterol and am really hung up on this fact so be prepared for additional posts in the future addressing this tragic issue)
- Sliced yellow heirloom tomatoes (for color, you can use any type of tomato, and make sure to remove the juicy seeds and bits before putting it on your pizza to avoid sogginess)
- Minced garlic/shallots
- Fresh thyme
- Dried oregano
- Sea salt and pepper
Just toss all that on your pizza and set it in your 450-degree conventional oven for about 6 to 8 minutes. Done!
The best thing about this is that you can modify it however you like. For example, you could use pesto instead of tomato sauce, tortilla instead of pita (or even on Quaker rice cakes like my friend Naz did sophomore year at college) or perhaps goat cheese to make this lactose-intolerant-friendly (I just happened to have mozzarella and smoked gruyere). I should have added some basil for more color, but I only used whatever I had in my fridge, so feel free to experiment and use up that last bit of bell pepper or artichoke hearts you have laying around!
(By the way, in no way am I a food expert, but I love sharing things that excite me so if you have any ideas about tasty and healthy food that’s easy to prepare, I would love to share it too!…..you are probably judging me right now. It’s ok, I would too).

Clothes Made Out Of Newspapers
To be honest, I’m not sure how this would fare on a Project Runway challenge for fear of Heidi denouncing the works as too obvious, but there’s still something I find beautifully evanescent about these outfits. By the way, the model’s lips are simply exquisite. I love upturned, heart-shaped berry pouts!

A beautiful series by photographer Amy M. Phillips and Fairlight Hubbard of Eye Management.
